Hello and welcome to the forum.

Puppy biting needs nipping in the bud asap as im sure you realise. I think the saying no and treating is a good thing to try, but you dont want it to come across to the dog as if he is been rewarded for the biting in the first place.

What worked for me was to say no and then just stop what i was doing with him and ignor him. Ideally the kids also need to treat it in the same way or he might think he can still get away with it. It may also take a bit of perseverence.

Have you got a check or half check collar? These can be usefull when training in general as the dog will get used to the noise of the chain as a reinforcement. Personally I prefer the half check.

Another thing to try which could be usefull is a shaker. Just put a few stones in a small plastic pop bottle and give it a shake when you say no, this usually makes them jump a bit and listen.

Good look and keep us updated as to how its going.

This supplement does everything that Immunocal does - they both will raise your glutathione equally effectively. One is not stronger than the other.

This special formulation of Immunocal was made to address issues that commonly occur with human aging. This is an enhanced formula of Immunocal.

Hi I'm new to this forum and am looking for some advice on our new big boy. Let me introduce us all there's me, the hubby, 2 kids (the youngest being 6) 3 cats (2 elderly), and free roaming bunny, amber 6yrold cavvie and our newest edition Monty GSDxBeardie.
He comes from a large family and is very leg and hand orientated and I can only assume that he has been played with by the family in this way. We have tried yelping and ignoring but he just turns it into a game which can be too much for the kids, we are now trying positive reinforcement by treating when he stops by responding to "no".
I would appreciate as many ideas as possible to stop this behaviour as I realise we have a highly intelligent dog but we would like him turn become a big soft teddy, Puppy classes are booked  and we are raring to go.
Thanks Wink

Can anyone foster this old girl?  The people who dumped her at this shelter are horrible people.  If she is fostered I would be glad to pay for food and a vet checkup for her - I live in Illinois and thinking about going over the weekend, but my hubby will kill me if I brought her home.  Can anyone go see her or get her to a rescue group?

The dog forum will be back soon.
Lets face it, most people either need some help or would love to get some advise on mans best friend.
Whether its basic dog training, advanced dog training or just a bit of help, thats what we intent our forum to provide.
At the dog forum we know how hard it can be having any dog for the first time or at any time, what can you do, what should you really do.
Our best advice is to get help from a good forum, specially if you think you need a dog trainer.
We know first hand how hard it can be dog training, finding a good recomended dog training club or a recomended dog trainer.
We aim to put dog training clubs, dog rescues, dog trainers and dog breeders in touch.
Thanks for looking and hope we can help.
